Underrated Hikes of Southern Utah

Enjoying a good hike with yourself or with friends can be beneficial for your body and for your soul. Here are some underrated hikes that the Catori Team loves. These are what we would call beginner hikes, where you don’t need to worry about getting lost as they are ‘up and back’ hikes; while still maintaining the best Southern Utah views.

Johnson’s Canyon

Hours: Dawn till Dusk

Season: Closed March 15-September 15th

This short hike has all of the Southern Utah views. Pine Valley, Lava Rocks, Red Rocks and of course the beautiful red dirt we all know and love.

Johnson’s Canyon is prior to the gate to get into Snow Canyon Park. To round off our hike,  a gelato or tea at Harmons hits the spot.

Tukupetsi Trailhead

Hours: Dawn till Dusk

Season: Year Round

If you’re in a leaf-viewing river walking mood, this is the trail for you. A fun surprise is that there are even petroglyphs if you wander off long enough.

What we love most though is that it’s a great way to catch up with friends while taking in the beauty that Ivins offers!
